Claratas Fancy green lab grown diamond engagement ring

Fancy Green Diamond Engagement Rings

Fancy green diamonds offer a rare, nature-inspired hue for engagement rings that stand apart from the traditional. Shop our fancy green collection in solid gold, with lab-grown, natural, or moissanite stones.

Where green color comes from

Green is the most unusual of the fancy colors in origin. In natural stones it generally comes from exposure to radiation in the ground over geological time, which alters the crystal surface, often only to a thin outer layer. That is why so much natural green is lost during cutting, and why genuinely green natural diamonds are correspondingly scarce.

Choosing a setting metal

Green reads most clearly in white metal and against white diamond accents, which give the eye a neutral reference beside the color. In yellow gold the two warm tones tend to merge and the green reads softer. Both are valid choices, but they produce noticeably different rings.

Lab-grown, natural or moissanite

Because natural green is so scarce, green is primarily available as lab-grown diamond or moissanite, where the color can be produced consistently through the body of the stone rather than only at the surface. Natural stones are graded by GIA, lab-grown by IGI, and moissanite carries a GRA certificate. Every stone ships with its certificate.

Made to order in solid gold

Each ring is handcrafted to order in our Bangkok workshop in solid 9K, 12K, 14K, 16K or 18K gold, never plated, in white, yellow or rose. 18K has a richer color; 14K is harder and stands up better to daily wear. Shipping is free worldwide with duties included, and returns are open for 30 days.

Fancy green diamond engagement ring FAQs

Is a green diamond the same as an emerald?

No. A green diamond is a diamond; an emerald is beryl. Diamond is far harder and better suited to daily wear, and it returns light differently, so the two look distinct even at similar color.

Why are natural green diamonds so rare?

Natural green usually comes from radiation altering only a thin outer layer of the crystal, so most of the color is cut away during polishing. Few stones retain green through the body.

Are lab-grown green diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. A lab-grown fancy green has the same chemical composition, hardness and optical properties as a mined one. The difference is origin, not material.

What metal suits a green diamond best?

White gold keeps the green distinct and is the most common choice. Yellow gold warms it and softens the contrast.

Do your green diamonds come certified?

Yes. Natural diamonds are certified by GIA, lab-grown diamonds by IGI, and moissanite by GRA. Every gold piece is also stamped and certified for purity and weight.

Can I design a green diamond ring from scratch?

Yes. We source the center stone and build the setting around it. Share a reference image or a description and we will work from there.
